Silwood School of Cookery Terms & Conditions:
• No application form lodged will create a contract between the School and the applicant unless or until it is accepted by the School in which event a valid and binding agreement shall come into effect.
• The deposit specified on the fees schedule, for the course[s] undertaken ["the registration fee"] shall be payable together with the submission of the application form. The registration fee shall not be refundable except under the following circumstances:
In the event of the application not being accepted by the school on or before the date of commencement of the course[s] concerned or by agreement between the school and the applicant.
• If the applicant having enrolled, does not wish to continue with any of the course[s] initially undertaken, he/she shall notify the school thereof in writing by no later than one calendar month prior to the date of commencement of such course[s]. The school shall, in such circumstances, be entitled at its sole discretion, to retain or refund the enrolment fee or any portion thereof paid by such applicant. Failure to furnish such notice by any applicant will render such application liable for the full fees for the course[s] undertaken when same fall due, irrespective of whether such applicant actually attends and/or completes such course[s] or not.
• In exceptional circumstances, and by prior arrangement with the school, the applicant may be permitted to join the course later than its commencement date subject to such terms and conditions as the school may, in its sole and absolute discretion, impose.
• The school reserves the right to terminate any agreement entered into with any applicant at any time and at their sole and absolute discretion. In such an event, the Directors undertake to repay an appropriate portion of the fee paid by such applicant.
• The school shall be under no liability whatsoever to a student for any loss, injury or damage of whatsoever nature sustained at or near the school's premises whether in respect of any negligent act or omission by the school, its agents, staff or servants or otherwise.
• The fees for the course[s] quoted are subject to alteration without formal notice to applicants.
• Due to the nature of the course, school fees once paid for, will not be refunded under any circumstances whatsoever. Once enrolled, and the applicant has accepted the place offered to them, and course has commenced, failure to attend any course or portion thereof for any reason, shall not relieve the applicant from any liability for payment of the balance of fees, which may be outstanding at any time.
Cost of the collection will be for the applicant's account on a client attorney basis. All costs to be inclusive; including collection fee, attorney fees, tracing fee, accrued interest once handed over etc.
I (being the applicant) hereby authorise Silwood School of Cookery to collect, share and exchange credit and related information, including identity information and contact details, concerning myself and/or the responsible party for payment, with any credit bureau, collections agency and/or attorney instructed to collect outstanding account(s), without further notice to me/us.
• Should a student through negligence or wilfulness cause damage to any property of the school the student or parents of a minor student will be held liable for the cost of such damage.
• Applicants who have been absent for more than eight days in one year may be excluded from the examinations.
• Applicants shall be bound by the House Rules as amended from time to time.
• No applicant will be allowed to undertake private catering without the written consent of the school.
