8 days 62% LA COLOMBE: Nicola did well in the pastry kitchen.  I would like to see her take more initiative and take on jobs without being told.  I’d like to see a want to learn more. She will do well this year.

DISH FOOD & SOCIAL: When Nicola came to work, she was moderately acceptable. Perhaps she should consider an office job instead of cheffing.

SILWOOD: Nicola is a good student, she needs more exposure to come out of her shell.

 

2 The Foodbarn 1 day 65% Nicola is not very reliable, in that she was late for work a few times and often sickly. The one day she did not come to work, she didn’t even bother letting us know till half way through the day. She also shows very little enthusiasm towards food.
 3 Open Door  4 days  50% Nicola lacks team work.

COMMENTS:

GENERAL:  Nicola has had a difficult year adapting to the reality of the workplace.  She has not displayed a good work ethic nor has she followed Silwood’s rules regarding absenteeism.  She has not completed the portfolio of evidence required for industry experience, this is a requirement of the national qualification. She has also failed her block at Open Door.  Nicola has to rethink her commitment to the course. In order for her to receive a Silwood diploma, she will have to comply with all the requirements of the qualification.  I hope the holiday will revive her energy and commitment.
 
ICING:  There have been times during this year where Nicola has concentrated and produced good work and then there are times when I feel she is drifting.

 

 

 

 

Practical exams (work) require 60% to pass and Theory exams (work) require 50% to pass.

60% is required to pass an in-service block; failure of a block will require the student to redo another block before graduating.
