BLOCK ESTABLISHMENT DAYS MISSED MARK COMMENT FROM CHEF
1 Waterkloof Restaurant 0 days 20% Byrone loses focus in less than 5 minutes. He takes everything as a joke. He doesn’t like to be told what to do and how to do it. It actually takes so much effort to get him to work and be part of the team that it is not actually worth it in the end. He lives in his own world far away from reality and unfortunately in a professional kitchen, we don’t always have time for a clown.
2 The Pot Luck Club  0 days 80% With a bit more experience I would employ him.
3 Four & Twenty Cafe  0 days  65% Byrone has enthusiasm in certain areas, however he struggles to take instructions from others and questions/argues when shown how to do something. He is a friendly and passionate student but could focus more on listening and trying to progress better when explained by a senior / professional. Take a step back and think before you speak. sometimes it’s better to appreciate advice so you can improve your skills.

COMMENTS:

GENERAL: Byrone has had a few difficulties this year. He struggled to fit into Waterkloof Kitchen and as a result did not achieve the required pass mark so he will have to redo this block in order to graduate. He has since successfully completed his block at the Pol Luck Club. He also struggled to fit in at the Test Kitchen resulting in him having to leave and complete his block at four & twenty. Byrone has to be careful in not letting his personal feelings and issues take over in the work place and to try and remain professional at all times.

ICING: Byrone seems to be drifting this year and I haven’t really seen much improvement, motivation or work from him.

Practical exams (work) require 60% to pass and Theory exams (work) require 50% to pass.
abs stands for ABSENT.
N/A stands for not applicable – a class was not held.
60% is required to pass an in-service block; failure of a block will require the student to redo another block before graduating.
Marks shown above are in percentages.
